Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should use the Activity: Conversation about travel plans (support) to guide their improvisation during the Main Event and to help them write their script; could omit the use of conversational language focusing only on the questions and answers about travel plans.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should improvise the conversations forming questions and answers from their memory; could use their own language choices from memory or sourced from a dictionary including additional conversational phrases encountered in previous units such as ¿Cómo te llamas? – What is your name? Dónde vives? – Where do you live? or ¿Qué tiempo hace? – What is the weather like?; could record their conversation in note form to prompt their speaking rather than as a full script.
