Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

Could work with an adult to help follow the steps in Resource: Create a digital map. Can use the Activity: Why do oceans matter? (support) to help support writing their paragraph.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Could write about:

  • The limitations of their data collection (they only observed one beach; the weather and time of year may have impacted the amount of litter, animals and plant life).
  • The difficulties they may come across when making improvements to marine environments (people not having time for beach cleans; the difficulty of getting more bins and official signs added and the difficulty of changing rules and policies).
