Lesson plan
Recap the following vocabulary from Lesson 1 (French, Year 3, French greetings with puppets, Lesson 1: French greetings) by entering the classroom as a French speaker and greeting some of the children individually by:
- Shaking their hands and saying, bonjour ! (hello!).
- Waving, saying, salut ! (hi!).
Repeat several times, so the children know with which action to respond.
Introduce yourself, saying, je m'appelle Madame/Monsieur [name] - my name is [ ].
Ask a few children what their name is: comment tu t'appelles ? The child should reply, je m'appelle [name].
Give lots of praise to those that speak up and have a go, even if they do not get it quite right.
