Lesson plan

1. Recap and recall

Before starting this unit, you might want to check that children can recall:

  • How to express likes and dislikes, using the phrases me gusta - I like, me gusta mucho - I like a lot and no me gusta - I don't like.
  • The conjunction porque – because.
  • That an adjective must agree with the gender of the noun it describes, which means the ending of the adjective may change. For example, a small dog is un perro pequeño, but a small cow is una vaca pequeña.
  • Names of the days of the week in Spanish.

Display the Presentation: Pronunciation practice. Drawing attention to the sounds and words on the slide, ask the children to say them aloud with a partner. Take feedback, then play the audio files and practise the pronunciation as a class.
