Could use the Activity: Product concept design: support version which provides a shape as a starting point or as an idea of how large their drawing should be; could discuss annotations with a partner or record them rather than writing. 

 

Pupils working at greater depth

Should add further explanation and detail to their annotations beyond the examples given; should consider and make links to prior learning around material properties using appropriate vocabulary like waterproof, lightweight, strong, and hard.
