Lesson plan

1. Recap and recall

Display the Presentation: Gimme five! Ask the children to think of five ways people might represent their ideas about God from the previous lesson.

The children may suggest:

  • A heart to symbolise love and kindness.

  • A mountain to symbolise strength and eternity, showing the belief that God is powerful and everlasting.

  • A tree to symbolise life, growth and interconnectedness, showing how they understand God as a source of life and creation.

  • Hands to represent care and creation, referring to their understanding of God as a caring creator.

  • A question mark as they are unsure.
