Before starting this unit, you might want to check that the children can recall:
The value of different coins up to and including £2.00.
The difference between coins and banknotes, with a focus on banknotes being worth more money.
How children get money, for example, through pocket money or presents.
Basic ways that they can keep coins and notes safe in and out of their home environment.
Who the children could ask to seek assistance with concerns or worries about money, for example, trusted adults, teachers, parents/carers.
