- To compose a verse melody
Pupils should be taught to:
- Improvise and compose music for a range of purposes using the interrelated dimensions of music
- Play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts, using their voices and playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression
Before the lesson
Pupils needing extra support: Work in a group supported by the teacher or Teaching Assistant to To create or write music. a The main/most distinguishable part of a song or piece of music, otherwise called a ‘tune’…. for verse one. You may want to hand out copies of the Activity: Notes in a chord.
Pupils working at greater depth: Can use their own instruments to compose the melody for verse one, and/or write it out using staff Symbols used to represent music played with instruments or sung by the human voice… instead of letter notation.
