Support and challenge

Adults can use the opportunity to discuss and/or support with: 

  • Challenging the children to draw a place that Bear went on his visit and labelling or writing a sentence about it.  
  • Drawing a map of their local area and adding some features they would find (note: it is not expected that the map is accurate in any way).
  • Providing word mats/cards with key vocabulary. 
  • Helping children to use sentence stems, such as “These places are similar because …” or “These places are different because…”
