Lesson plan
Arrange the class into groups of three and select a group member to collect a tray with samples of materials (see Have ready). Provide each group with the Resource: Knowledge organiser: Science - States of matter.
Ask the groups to discuss the properties of their materials and sort them into solids, liquids and gases. Invite the groups to circulate and view how others have grouped the materials. Note and discuss any differences.
