1. Recap and recall

Display the Presentation: Range of answers and ask the children to choose which word they think symbolises the Olympic flame the most and why. Give them time to discuss their answers in pairs and take feedback.

Answers could include:

  • unity because it brought people together who were from places at war.
  • hope because people may wish to achieve their very best.
