1. Recap and recall

Before starting this unit, check that the children can recall:

How to use and agree colour adjectives (see Spanish, Year 4, Pets in Spanish).
Some animal names in Spanish.
Vivo en… - I live in..., is followed by a place name or noun with an article.
How to use me gusta + [infinitive verb] to talk about things they like to do.
Spanish is spoken in countries in Central and South America (see Spanish, Year 3, Journey around Latin America).

Before beginning the unit, it may be helpful to watch the Pupil video: Why is Spanish spoken around the world? as a class.
