Display the Presentation: Pairs and invite the children to choose two cards until the person and scripture match (for example, Muhammad and the Qur’an). Then, allow the children time to discuss in pairs what the person and scripture have in common or what brings them together.
Take feedback and repeat until all of the cards have been used. Answers might include:
The Qur’an contains the words from Allah (God) and is the Muslim holy scripture. Muslims believe Muhammad was the final prophet who received the words from God.
The Bible contains stories about many important people and prophets. The New Testament tells stories of Jesus and his teachings. Jesus is considered the Messiah by many Christians and is part of the Holy Trinity, meaning he is God in human form.
The Guru Granth Sahib contains teachings, songs and guidance for Sikhs. It is considered the eternal living Guru. Guru Nanak is considered an important figure who began the teachings now found within the Sikh worldview.
