1. Recap and recall

How often do you...?

Hand out the whiteboards and pens and the Resource: Knowledge organiser: Spanish - Free time in Spain to each child. Direct the children's attention to the adverbs at the bottom of the first page.

Read out or write the sentences below and prompt the children to fill in the blanks with adverbs that reflect their own experiences.

En la playa ... nado en el mar - on the beach, I ... swim in the sea.

En verano ... como helados - in summer, I ... eat ice cream.

En invierno ... bebo chocolate caliente - in winter, I ... drink hot chocolate.

En invierno ... esquio en las montañas - in winter, I ... ski in the mountains.

Ask the children to jot down their sentences on their whiteboards, completing the gaps with their chosen adverbs. Invite the children to share their sentences with their partner.

Read each sentence in turn, completed with any adverb, and ask the children to raise their hands when they hear the same adverb they chose.
