Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

  • Could play the bass line (single notes on beat 1) using the Resource: Bass line pattern to follow the sequence independently.
  • Could play only the verse and chorus (C, C, F, F repeated) to focus on maintaining timing and confidence, and reduce memory load.

Pupils working at greater depth:

  • Should lead the group during rehearsal by counting the beat and keeping the band in time.
  • Should provide constructive suggestions for improvement using rehearsal and performance vocabulary. (e.g. The singers should face the audience, not look down at their lyric sheets so much.)
