Lesson plan
Explain that the children will be thinking carefully about what is needed to make a working torch by choosing from a list of possible answers. Display the Presentation: Range of answers and arrange the children in pairs. Read the question out loud. Ask the pairs to discuss which of the items are definitely needed, which could be useful but are not essential and which are not needed at all. Encourage them to explain their reasoning.
