Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

  • Could be given a selection of colours, shapes or patterns to represent the music.
  • Could just recognise the very loud and quiet sounds, rather than acknowledging those in between.

Pupils working at greater depth:

  • Should be encouraged to use musical terminology when describing the music.
  • Should represent volumes other than loud and quiet, e.g. ‘very loud’, ‘very quiet’ and all levels in between.
