Lesson plan
Ask the children if they had any special rules for PSHE in Year 1 and what they were.
Talk about why these rules were important (so that we all feel safe and want to take part in the lessons and everyone can learn etc.).
Explain to the children you want them to come up with some rules for PSHE for Year 2. Some of these might be the same as Year 1 but they might want to add others or change the words they use. Give the children 10 minutes to discuss their ideas in pairs or small groups.
Take ideas from each group and record them on the board. Point out and discuss any ideas that are similar. Ensure that the rules cover:
Respecting other people’s ideas
There are no silly questions
Keeping what is said in the room in the room
That we are all different and that is fine
