1. Recap and recall

Before starting this unit you might want to check children can recall:

  • A biome is an area with a similar climate, landscapes, plants and animals.

  • The lines of latitude; the Tropic of Cancer, Equator and Tropic of Capricorn.

Use the Presentation: Matching biomes to support this.

Additionally, ask the children to match the names of the biomes (on the right) to the correct colour key (on the left). Reveal the answers.
