Lesson plan

1. Recap and recall

This activity revisits learning from Lesson 2: Bhangra beats to help the children recall key knowledge.

Show the Presentation: Rhythm or melody? Remind the children of the following definitions:

  • Rhythm: a pattern of long and/or short sounds.

  • Melody: a pattern of different pitches.

Explain that the children will see and hear different musical features and must decide whether each relates to rhythm or melody. Drag each feature to reveal the answer.
