1. Recap and recall

Recap product concept drawings and revisit the term annotations from learning in Year 3:

Display the image of the pencil sharpener. Remind children of the types of labels that you might find on a product concept drawing:

  • Materials.

  • Functions.

  • Colours.

  • Brief explanations of choices.

Show the picture of a pencil sharpener and ask the children to think of one label to add, write it on a whiteboard and hold it up.
