Before starting this unit, check that the children can recall:
How to thread a needle.
How to tie a knot to secure the final stitch.
How to sew a running stitch with evenly spaced, neat, even stitches to join the fabric.
Sewing is a method of joining fabric using different stitches.
Appliqué is a way of mending or decorating a textile by applying smaller pieces of fabric to larger pieces.
