Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support
Could select items from the Activity: Quantity word sort pictures rather than source vocabulary from the dictionary; could determine singular/plural items by considering if they would ask ‘How much? or ‘How many?; could determine feminine nouns by identifying items ending in ‘a’; could use the questions from Wrapping up as prompts for the sorting activity.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should research and sort additional food vocabulary into the table; could suggest items which could go in two different columns on the table, for example, cake, chocolate or pizza, where you might ask for part of a whole pizza, or for several individual pizzas.
