Lesson 3: Timbre and rhythmic patterns: Rhythms

Clapping the syllables in given words and phrases, pupils work in groups to create rhythmic patterns and phrases to tell the story of The Three Little Pigs, before performing whilst the story is told.

Pupils needing extra support: Could be partnered with other pupils who achieve higher levels in English or have them work as part of a guided group. They may need support with spelling the words they think of in Activity two.

 

Pupils working at greater depth: Should be encouraged to think of more complex phrases with words containing three or more syllables, saying them in their head whilst they play.
