Unit outcomes
Pupils who are secure will be able to:
Y1 and Y2
- Identify some groups that they belong to.
- Understand that we all belong to different groups.
- Explain the roles people have in the local community.
- Discuss what makes a good school environment.
- Recognise that everyone has a responsibility to maintain the school environment.
- Name some jobs that people do to keep the local environment pleasant.
Y1 only
- Explain the purpose of the classroom rules.
- Describe some differences between themselves and their peers.
Y2 only
- Recognise the consequences of not having rules or not following rules.
- Identify people that are similar to and different from them in the local community.
Suggested prior learning
Y1/2: Citizenship (Cycle B)
Pupils can access Cycle A / Cycle B of this unit in any order but should complete both cycles during their time in Year 1/2.
