Differentiation
Pupils needing extra support
Some pupils may find it more difficult to contribute to the attention grabber activity, so circulate between groups and support them by asking questions and helping them to frame their answers. During the sketchbook task, be prepared to share examples of when children have completed creative things in school e.g. a project earlier in the year.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should be encouraged to justify their ideas about why something is or isn’t art. Their sketchbook response should show that they thought about something creative they have done in the past – they could be encouraged to add words or labels to explain it further.
