Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could have the Activity: Plant diary printed in A3; could use base ten (ten stick) to measure the height of their plants; could present a short video or use an audio device to describe how their plant has grown instead of completing the Activity: My plant diary.

Pupils working at greater depth

Could draw a cross-section of their plant pot showing the seed under the soil and labelling the roots; could draw and label the seed coat resting on the soil; could write a caption next to the seed coat to explain that a seed has a store of energy used for growth when the conditions are right.
