Introduction to HTML tags

This Computing scheme of work video introduces pupils to HTML tags, the building blocks that bring websites to life. It helps the children understand how tags are used to organise, structure and display the content we see and use online.

The video explores key tags such as <html>, <head>, <body> and <title>, which help structure a web page. The children learn how <h1> to <h6> create headings, <p> defines paragraphs and other tags like <img>, <ul>, <li>, <table> and <form> add useful content and features. By the end of the video, the children see how HTML tags help create colourful, interactive and well-organised webpages.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Year 4 Skills Showcase: HTML and Year 6 Exploring AI units. It gives pupils a clear and exciting introduction to HTML, showing how code transforms into webpages they use every day.
