Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could use the Activity: Weather comprehension: support which has fewer cities to identify; could use the Resource: Weather icons: support which allows the children to cut and stick weather icons onto the map rather than drawing by hand; could use the Knowledge organiser to support with deducing the text;

Pupils working at greater depth

Could label the comprehension map with the names of each weather type as well as drawing the symbols; could identify any new language e.g. la isla, la costa, las montañas and annotate the reading comprehension text with their translations, ready to feed back to the class at the end of the lesson; could use a bilingual dictionary to find out the names of other geographical features in Spanish, for example, river, sea, volcano.
