Lesson 1: Photomontage (Original scheme)

Pupils are shown the work of different photomontage artists to see the effects that can be created before then crafting their own

Before the lesson

Learning objectives

  • To create a photo montage using secondary source photographs

National curriculum

Pupils should be taught to:

  • Become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
  • Evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
  • Improve their mastery of art and design techniques

Pupils needing extra support: May need help with cutting accurate shapes and should be asked questions about their design to help develop their ideas.

 

Pupils working at greater depth: Should show a more imaginative approach to creating the montage, explaining their image selection and choice of composition.
