Before the lesson
- To experience drawing for pleasure
Pupils should be taught:
- To use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination
- To develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space
Pupils needing extra support: Some students will find drawing basic shapes difficult – they may press too hard with their pencil and find correcting mistakes difficult. Constant encouragement will help pupils understand that drawing is a skill that can take a long time to master.
Pupils working at greater depth: Will find drawing naturally easy and so should be challenged to draw more sophisticated images to a high standard.
