Before the lesson
- To reproduce and apply an artist’s colour range to their own work
Pupils should be taught to:
- Develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space
- Become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
- Learn about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers, describing the differences and similarities between different practices and disciplines, and making links to their own work
Pupils needing extra support: May need support in creating more than one colour for the sea (or sky or sand) which they can then apply.
Pupils working at greater depth: Should use a wider range of colours to paint with and look closely at the colours Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch artist born in 1853. He spent most of his time painting and drawing in France. He actually started painting in Belgium, spent time in London, and then moved to the south of France. Vincent was a post-Impressionist painter and most of his work was created between 1881 and 1889. He had many… used.
