How blood travels around us

This Science scheme of work video introduces teachers to the skills needed to help Key Stage 2 pupils understand the structure and function of the circulatory system through interactive modelling and engaging activities. It explores how blood flows through the heart twice in a double circulatory system, delivering oxygen and nutrients and removing waste. Pupils learn the roles of arteries, veins, capillaries, and heart valves, using movement, props, and colour coding to model the transport of gases and nutrients around the body.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Science Human body resources. It simplifies the process, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared to support pupils in developing their understanding of complex biological systems. With clear explanations and hands-on modelling, the lesson helps bring the circulatory system to life in the lesson below.
