Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support:
Should use the Knowledge organisers to help them answer the questions in the Recap and recall activity; could be provided with the Resource: Results grid (support) to help them design their data table (cut out the correct number of columns and rows); could request hint words when identifying variables (such as water, food and exercise).
Pupils working at greater depth:
Should explain why they think each of the predictions they do not vote for is incorrect; should identify variables that cannot be controlled or are hard to control and explain why this might be a problem; could choose an extension activity relating to muscle fatigue or the enquiry cycle from the Resource: Stretch and challenge: How does food affect muscle fatigue?
