Using loops in programming
This Computing video supports teachers in helping the children understand how to use loops in programming.
The video introduces loops as instructions that repeat actions, either a set number of times or indefinitely. It demonstrates how to combine instructions to run simultaneously, such as moving and tilting a character at the same time using green flag triggers and forever loops. Key blocks (such as ‘repeat’ and ‘forever’) are explained, showing how loops can make code more efficient and easier to manage. The video provides step-by-step guidance for teachers to model these concepts and support the children in developing smoother, more controlled animations.
This video is part of the Year 2 Programming 2: Introduction to block coding, Option 2: ScratchJr unit, supporting the children to develop their computational thinking and programming skills.
