Project evaluation

This Computing scheme of work introduces pupils to evaluating computational thinking, which is a key skill that supports Key Stage 2 pupils in thinking critically about their coding projects. It highlights how evaluating helps pupils check whether their programs work correctly, identify bugs and consider improvements to design and usability.

The video explores how to ask meaningful questions, such as whether a project functions as planned or if it can be made easier to use. It demonstrates how pupils can examine their code, trace errors, and test solutions by making small adjustments and observing the results.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Year 4 Computing Computational thinking unit. It supports teachers in helping pupils understand the connection between code and outcome, and encourages a mindset of continuous improvement through careful testing and reflection.
