This document shows where our mixed-age French scheme of work gives coverage of the national curriculum attainment targets for languages. It also shows the link between the Kapow Primary strands and the national curriculum statements.

History: Key skills and knowledge by unit — mixed-age

This document shows which mixed-age units help pupils meet the knowledge and skills outlined in our History curriculum. It is useful for planning and ensuring that pupils in mixed-age classes achieve the same learning outcomes as single-age classes.

  • Reception (EYFS): Ideal for early years, our EYFS scheme of work for History helps build foundational knowledge and curiosity about history.
  • Key Stage 1: Suitable for Years 1 and 2, the KS1 History scheme offers engaging lessons introducing basic historical concepts and events.
  • Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4): Our lower KS2 history scheme of work is designed to deepen pupils’ understanding of historical events and their impact.
  • Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6): The upper KS2 history scheme of work provides comprehensive lessons that prepare pupils for more advanced historical studies in later years.

Please note that schools must subscribe to both Art and design and Design and technology to have access to all the units referenced in this document.

Design and technology and Art and design (revised scheme): Long-term plan — mixed-age

This document is a mixed-age version of our very popular long term planning, which allows schools to alternate between the teaching of Design and technology and Art and design half-termly.

Please note that schools must subscribe to both Art and Design and Design and technology subjects to have access to all the units referenced in this plan.

For mixed-age settings, we have organised the units into two-year cycles, ensuring that progression is still appropriate, no matter the order that children experience Cycle A and Cycle B.

To accompany this document, we have produced a DT and Art: Progression of skills and knowledge- Mixed-age.

Art and design: Progression of skills and knowledge – mixed-age

This Progression of skills document is designed for mixed-age settings that follow our revised art scheme and the Art and design: Long-term plan — mixed-age version. 

 

It shows progression in skills and knowledge from Y1/2 to Y5/6 over a two-year cycle. EYFS: Reception has been included as a single-year group.

Science: Long-term plan — mixed-age

This document may be useful to you if your school has mixed-age classes. It organises our Science scheme of work into a two-year rolling cycle which ensures full coverage of the National curriculum objectives.

 

The units are adapted for mixed-age classes to ensure progression.
