History: Long-term plan — mixed-age

This History Long-term plan — mixed-age version gives a suggested order for teaching our full History curriculum in a mixed-age setting with Year 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6 classes.

Our units are organised into a two-year rolling programme with Cycle A and Cycle B units to be taught alternately. Some of our units have been adapted, and new units have been created to ensure that children progress through the curriculum appropriately.

D&T: Progression of skills and knowledge — mixed-age

This document is for schools following our D&T: Long-term plan —mixed-age version. It gives an overview of the skills and knowledge covered in each mixed-age year group and cycle and how these skills develop throughout the Design and technology scheme of work.

It shows how skills and knowledge develop in each of our D&T Key areas: Structures, Mechanisms/mechanical structures, Electrical systems (KS2), Cooking and nutrition, Textiles and Digital world.

If you are following our Long-term plan — condensed, then please see the D&T Progression of skills and knowledge — condensed.

Music: Progression of skills and knowledge — mixed-age

Please note this document has been updated to reflect changes to our long-term plan. See the Music: Long-term plan — mixed-age to learn more about these changes.

Aimed at those schools following our Long-term plan: mixed-age, this downloadable progression of skills and knowledge document shows how Kapow Primary’s Music scheme develops music skills from EYFS through to Year 6. Updated to outline the accumulation of knowledge within the interrelated dimensions of music.

To see the skills and knowledge covered in each unit, see our Music key skills and knowledge by unit.

If you follow our standard Music – Long-term plan, see our standard Progression of skills and knowledge.

If you follow our Music: Long-term plan — condensed, see our Progression of skills and knowledge — condensed.

Computing: Progression of skills and knowledge – Mixed-age

This document is for those following our Computing: Long-term plan – mixed-age and gives an overview of the skills and knowledge progression throughout our Computing curriculum.

It shows which cycle each skill is covered in and those skills which are in bold are those which appear in both cycle A and cycle B. Please note that the cycles in each phase may look unbalanced in terms of coverage. For example, one cycle may have all the programming units, and the other have none. This decision has been made to ensure that the learning in these areas is progressive in terms of skills and knowledge and that pupils have the same opportunities by the end of Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 as they would do if they were being taught in single year groups.

If you would like to see the skills and knowledge covered in each unit, then please see our Computing key skills and knowledge by unit.
