Understanding mitzvot
This Religion and worldviews video introduces teachers to the concept of mitzvot that guide many Jewish people in how they live their lives. The lesson focuses on the Ten Commandments, believed by many to have been given to Moses by God and explores how these form part of a wider group.
The video supports teachers in helping children understand that Jewish practices vary, with some people following traditional interpretations and others adapting them to fit contemporary life. It encourages respectful discussion around religious diversity, belief and practice within Judaism.
This video is part of Kapow Primary’s Religion and Worldviews resources and helps teachers confidently lead this lesson, enabling children to explore how commandments can guide daily life and how religious practice can change over time.
