Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing support

Could use the Activity: Slider templates to support them when making the sliders in the Main event; could be given pre-cut strips of paper for the sliders that fit into the slots rather than cutting their own.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should experiment with each of the different methods to make the slot and explain the advantages or drawbacks of each; should be able to explain how the guides work and experiment with adding more than one or sticking them down closer to the slider; should suggest ways to solve problems when investigating the different methods; could suggest ways to make the mechanism better by using different materials.
