  • Could use Activity: Foods to organise and refine their ideas by physically sorting the foods in the Attention grabber.
  • Could use the Activity: Packed lunch and Activity: Foods in the Main event to reduce cognitive load and aid task completion.
  • Could rewatch the Pupil video: What is a balanced diet? to support their discussion and choices when creating the character’s packed lunch.

Pupils working at greater depth: 

  • Should justify their choices by writing a short sentence to explain why they have included each item in the lunchbox.
  • Could demonstrate their knowledge of nutrients by listing which nutrients some of the foods in their packed lunch contain.
