Lesson plan
Display the Presentation: Brain dump and hand out the whiteboards and pens. Ask the children to write down, or discuss, everything they learnt last lesson about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The answers could include:
The rights are part of international law.
The rights are intended to protect children all around the world (in the 196 countries that have currently signed it, as of 2022).
There are 42 rights.
Rights include education, play, health, expressing views and joining groups.
In some places, children do not benefit from these rights in the same way.
Fill in any gaps and correct any misconceptions, particularly generalisations about children in other countries.
