Lesson plan
Ask the children to talk to their partners to recall what a democracy is. If they can recall what a democracy is, ask them to give an example of the word democracy in a sentence. (Note: The children learnt about democracy in Year 1, Citizenship, Lesson 6: Democratic decisions and Year 2, Citizenship, Lesson 6: School council).
Take feedback, then display the link: BBC Bitesize - Citizenship: Democracy and watch the video entitled 'Democracy' to help the children to recall their previous learning.
