Lesson plan

1. Recap and recall

Explain that the children will be talking with a partner to recall what they know about algorithms, decomposition and abstraction. Recap the meaning of the words:

  • Algorithm: a clear set of instructions to carry out a task.
  • Decomposition: to break something down into smaller chunks.
  • Abstraction: to pick out the important information.

Display the Presentation: Speak like an expert and arrange the children in pairs. Allow time for them to share their ideas.
