Show the Presentation: Gimme five! and use this to remind children of the discussion in the previous lesson about community groups and the needs that they serve.
Some of the types of groups they might come up with include:
Social support and well-being (e.g. parent and baby groups.)
Health and disability support (e.g. disability support groups or clubs.)
Cultural and ethnic groups (e.g. multicultural community centres.)
Youth and family support (e.g. after school clubs.)
Employment and education (e.g. language learning clubs.)
Faith and spiritual groups (e.g. faith-based clubs.)
Food and housing assistance (e.g. foodbanks and community kitchens.)
Environmental and outdoor groups (e.g. wildlife and conservation groups.)
Special interest and hobby groups (e.g. book clubs and art clubs.)
Sports and activities (e.g. five-a-side football and gymnastics.)
