Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

  • Could remove notes from the glockenspiel to leave just C, F and A to help identify the correct notes more easily.
  • Could use the Resource: Bass line pattern or the notes C, F, A written on a whiteboard to follow the playing pattern independently.

Pupils working at greater depth:

  • Should add simple rhythms to their bass line while staying in time with the beat on the backing track (see Teacher knowledge).
  • Should sing a line as a solo while maintaining pitch and timing.
