Could play the countryside sounds audio file and guide them through identifying and mimicking these sounds with prompts or by demonstrating examples; could use the second page of Resource: Teacher notes – folk song lyrics to help with learning lyrics during Attention grabber.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Should lead the soundscape performance; could encourage them to find innovative ways to recreate countryside sounds, using a wider range of materials or combining sounds to create complex effects.
