Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support:

Should have a breakdown of the task of identifying city sounds into more manageable steps with clear examples; could be aided in choosing their city sounds by guiding them towards sounds that can be easily recreated with simple body percussion or classroom objects; could use the second page of Resource: Teacher notes – folk song lyrics to help with learning lyrics during Attention grabber.

Pupils working at greater depth:

Should challenge them to find innovative ways to recreate city sounds, perhaps using digital tools or combining sounds to create complex audio effects; could lead their groups, such as coordinating the soundscape creation or leading discussions on how to add musical dimensions to their performance.
