Lesson plan
This activity revisits learning from earlier lessons in this unit, including Lesson 4: Painterly printmaking, to help the children recall key knowledge.
Ask the children to open their sketchbooks. Call out features and techniques explored during the unit, such as text, symbols, expressive brushstrokes, printmaking and layering. Ask the children to find and point to an example of each one in their sketchbooks.
Pair the children. Ask them to choose one experiment or idea they think was particularly successful and explain their choice to their partner.
Remind the children that their sketchbooks contain experiments, ideas and discoveries that can help them make decisions about their final artwork.
