Eating well to keep our bodies healthy

This RSE & PSHE video helps the children understand why fruits and vegetables are important for keeping their bodies healthy. Through simple examples, the children learn that fruits and vegetables contain vitamins and fibre, which help their bodies grow, stay strong, fight off illness and keep their tummies working properly.

The video shows that fruits and vegetables come in many different colours and that eating a variety can help children get a wider range of nutrients. The children learn that different colours can support different parts of the body, such as the heart, eyes and skin, helping their bodies and brains stay fit and healthy. The video also introduces the idea of five a day, explaining what a portion looks like and sharing simple ways the children can include fruits and vegetables in their daily meals.

This video is part of Kapow Primary’s RSE & PSHE KS1 videos, which enable teachers and pupils to explore growth and change and help develop personal, social and emotional skills, as well as an understanding of relationships and health education.
